A Brief History

With plenty of help from Dr. Miller and his wonderful nutritional supplements, Bud Ohlsen founded The Key Company in 1959.

It started out slowly, but Bud worked hard selling Miller products, never losing sight of one day selling his own vitamin and mineral supplements.  There were many long days spent traveling to doctors in Joplin and Kansas City, while evenings involved assembling literature and samples in our family living room in Kirkwood, Missouri. 

From a small office on Kirkwood Road to a mid-sized place on N. Harrison to ultimately the office of his dreams on W. Essex Avenue, Bud realized his goals of spreading the message of the importance of nutrition. 

With much scientific research, Bud was able to formulate products that helped patients with disorders ranging from arthritis, acid reflux, heart disease and hormone imbalances.  Bud insisted on using the finest ingredients and to this day we are proud to say we have not wavered. 

Bud passed away in April 2002, but his legacy lives on every time we are able to help a patient with their nutritional needs.
